November marks the beginning of the holiday season which means Give to the Max Day is right around the corner! Give to the Max Day (GTMD), is Thursday, November 19, this annual charitable giving event draws attention to thousands of nonprofit organizations and schools across the state. This year, Stevens Community Humane Society’s GTMD goal is to raise $5,000. This money will support our veterinary expenses and the everyday needs of the animals we take care of.
Give to the Max Day 2020
We want to thank everyone who has volunteered, donated, and shown us so much support over the years. We would not be as successful as we are today and our animals would not be receiving the same love and care without all of you supporting us!
This year we have already hit a record number of animals helped and it’s only growing larger. This year we have had to cancel our largest fundraising events due to the 2020 global pandemic and we need your help now more than ever.
Give to the Max is an amazing opportunity for SCHS and other nonprofits like us, with this goal, about 3 full months of veterinary work can be completed. But you don't have to wait until November 19 to make your gift! Early giving starts now and all gifts made from today through Give to the Max Day on November 19 will be counted towards our goal!
Everyone here at Stevens Community Humane Society wants to thank you all for being a part of this journey over the years and helping us save hundreds to thousands of animals. As GTMD approaches, there are two ways in which you can help us reach our goal:

Gizmo's Before and After
This past weekend, our building director and volunteer coordinator made a trip to the cities to meet Oddie! He came from a hoarding situation in Oklahoma and we couldn't be happier to help him start a new life! While he still has a long road ahead before being able to be adopted, he is already showing great improvements with the volunteers and people he meets. By donating to our Give to the Max Day, you allow for us to care for more dogs just like Oddie!
Bertha is another one of our recent success stories.
She came to us as a stray in early October and needed a lot of work. We are not sure of her full history but we do know that she was not being taken care of as many of her teeth were rotting.
After having 18 teeth extracted, and being able to experience the first snow fall with us, she was adopted, had a name change, and couldn't be happier with her new life! While we miss having her around we are so incredibly happy she was able to find a good home.
Give to the Max Day is a fundraising event that allows for us to do more serious operations like Bertha's (now Amelia's) teeth and we are so thankful for all of the support we have already received!
